    🛒Ingredients

labeled ingredient shot of breakfast charcuterie board toast, bacon sausage, fruit dip, berries and jam

    🛒Ingredients

    • fresh fruit like blueberries, fresh strawberries, grapes, pineapple slices, kiwis sliced in half, raspberries, etc. Whatever fresh fruit you have on hand that is seasonal will work for this brunch board

    • meats such as bacon, breakfast sausage, Canadian bacon, steak strips, etc.

    • breads such as French toast, scones, biscuits, mini pancakes, waffles, mini donuts, mini cinnamon rolls, etc.

    • eggs such as mini quiche, egg bites (like a crust-free quiche), hard-boiled eggs, etc.

    • sauces such as maple syrup, ketchup, hot sauce, melted butter, whipped cream, etc.

    🥣Instructions

Starting with the empty wooden board, put your containers with the dips or spreads and small berries down first. Next, place your larger items(toasts and breakfast breads) or anything that will be in a mini skillet (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns).

Fill in the empty spaces with more fruit. If you have a decorative element like mint or edible flowers, you can add that last. Any food best served warm should be placed on the board last as well so it is still warm when your guests eat it.

    📝Variations

The sky is the limit when it comes to breakfast board ideas.

    • Bagel Focused Board - add mini bagels, lox, capers, cream cheese,
    • Oatmeal Forward - Have a crockpot of cooked steel-cut oats add your favorite oatmeal toppings to the board like fresh fruit and berries with plenty of toppings like chocolate chips, honey, Nutella, granola butter, and milk to swirl in. This type of breakfast platter is a great low-cost idea for a large group.
    • Kid-friendly - add your kids' favorite breakfast items and finger foods. For a kid-friendly board, I like to use french toast sticks, mini muffins, mini pancakes, mini waffles and orange slices. Put some of the fruit on kid safe skewers so it is easy for them to pick up and eat.
    • Classic Breakfast Board-This board includes all the traditional breakfast favorites, such as fluffy pancakes eggs, bacon, toast, and fresh fruit. The eggs can be cooked to your liking, whether that be scrambled, fried, or boiled. The bacon can be crisp and savory, while the toast can be topped with butter or jam. The fruit can be sliced and arranged in a colorful display, with options such as bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. I love the classic board because it has sweet and salty and everyone will find something they love.
    • Veggie-Filled Board- For a healthier option, a veggie-filled breakfast board is a perfect choice. The best part of this board is that it can be filled with a variety of colorful and nutritious vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers. The vegetables can be sliced and arranged in a visually appealing manner, and served with a side of hummus for dipping. Eggs can be included as well, either scrambled or in the form of a frittata.
    • Sweet Breakfast Board-If you have a sweet tooth, a sweet breakfast board is a perfect way to start your day. This board can include a variety of sweet treats, such as waffles, pancakes, and French toast. The sweet treats can be drizzled with syrup or topped with fruit and whipped cream for an extra special touch. Fresh fruit can also be included for a touch of balance.
    • Cheese and Charcuterie Board- For a more savory breakfast option, a cheese and charcuterie board is the way to go. This board can be filled with a variety of cheeses, such as cheddar, brie, and gouda. The charcuterie can include options like ham, salami, and prosciutto. Sliced breakfast breads like multigrain bread, biscuits or croissants can be included for dipping and spreading. Add a variety of condiments, such as honey and jam.

On what occasions can I serve an easy brunch charcuterie board?

Putting together a breakfast board at home can be significantly cheaper than going out to brunch. Load up the board with your favorite breakfast goodies for your next brunch, baby shower, graduation or just about any event. There are so many special occasions where this easy charcuterie board would be the perfect solution to entertain your guests.

When making a breakfast board at home, you can purchase ingredients in bulk or on sale at the grocery store, which can help keep the cost down. I love shopping at Sam's Club when I am serving a large crowd. You can also choose to use seasonal produce, which is often more affordable than out-of-season options.

Going out to brunch, you are paying for the convenience of having someone else prepare your meal. While dining out is a great way to support local small businesses, it can get expensive, especially if you are entertaining a large group of people.

When you make a breakfast board at home, you can control the portions of each ingredient, ensuring that you are not wasting food. This can also help you keep the cost down, as you are not paying for more food than you need. When you go out to brunch, the portions are often larger, and you may end up paying for more food than you can eat.

Customizing the ingredients to suit your individual taste and preferences is one of the top benefits of enjoying an easy breakfast board at home. You can also be mindful of people's allergies or food aversions and can ensure that there is no cross-contamination. This can be a safer option than going out to brunch, where you may be limited in your options.

Overall, putting together a breakfast board at home can be a more cost-effective option than going out to brunch. By controlling the portions, ingredients, and customization, you can save money and still enjoy a delicious breakfast.

    🍳Equipment

To make a breakfast board, you will need a large wooden cutting board or board meant for a cheese display. You can also use a wood serving tray with handles https://amzn.to/3xa8qe9. If you don't have one large cheese board, you can use several smaller cheese boards and display them close together to get the same effect as one large board.

You will also need 3-5 small bowls for holding jams and honey.

If you are making scrambled eggs or home fries, 6-inch cast iron skillets can be used to keep warm items on their spot on the grazing board.

🍵What are some beverages that can be served with a breakfast board?

There are a variety of beverages that can be served with a breakfast board, depending on your personal preferences. Here are some options to consider:

Coffee: A classic breakfast staple, coffee is a great option to accompany a breakfast board. It can be served hot or iced and can be flavored with creamers or syrups for an added touch of sweetness.

Juice: Freshly squeezed or store-bought, juice is a great way to add a burst of flavor to your breakfast. Options like orange, grapefruit, and cranberry juice are popular choices.

Smoothies: A healthy and refreshing option, smoothies are a great way to add some fruits and vegetables to your breakfast. You can make a variety of different flavor combinations, depending on your personal taste.

Milk: Whether you prefer cow's milk, almond milk, or soy milk, a cold glass of milk is a great way to start your day.

Tea: For those who prefer a hot, non-caffeinated option, tea is a great choice. Options like black tea, green tea, or herbal tea can be served hot or iced.

Hot chocolate: For a sweet and indulgent option, hot chocolate is a great choice. You can make your own hot chocolate from scratch or use a store-bought mix.

Overall, the beverage options for a breakfast board are as varied as the food options. From hot drinks to cold drinks, there is something for everyone. So choose the beverage that suits your taste and enjoy your delicious breakfast board!

    ❄️Storage

An airtight container is great for different items leftover from the brunch board. I like storing in glass containers with spill proof lids. You can also store the fruit in glass mason jars and keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. The fruit may last longer (especially the berries) if you wash it with vinegar ahead of time.

    ✅👩🏾‍🍳Top tip

For the best results, keep any hot brunch foods warm in the oven until your brunch board is assembled, and add them last. You can preheat the cast iron skillets if you are using them to keep the foods warm for even longer.

    💭Food safety

If you assemble the cold foods on your brunch board ahead of time, be sure to keep the board wrapped with plastic wrap and under refrigeration until ready to serve.
