Jump to RecipeFrench bread pizza was THE go-to snack back in the day. After a long day of school, it was so easy to pop a frozen pizza into the microwave to help curb my appetite until dinner. I find that air fryers produce a superior pizza than a microwave. The crispness you can get on the bread is something you can never achieve in the microwave.

🛒Ingredients
- French Bread
- Pizza sauce
- Pepperoni
- Garlic
- Butter
- Mozzarella Cheese
See recipe card for quantities.
🔪Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut your french baguette lengthwise. Add garlic to the melted butter, and stir. Brush the garlic butter over the baguette and place the bread in an air fryer basket cut-side facing up. Cook the bread for 2-3 minutes so that it turns slightly golden brown.
Remove the toasted baguettes and spread pizza sauce over them. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce and top it with cheese and pepperoni or your favorite toppings.
Place the baguette back into the air fryer and cook until the cheese melts. This should take about 4-5 minutes. Keep an eye on the pizza while it cooks because sometimes the hot air in the air fryer will blow the sliced pepperoni off the pizza.
👩🏾🍳Substitutions
- French baguette: Instead of a french baguette, you can use fresh Italian bread or even
- a slice of frozen garlic toast.
- Pizza sauce: I used crushed tomatoes but you can use marinara sauce, tomato paste,
- and tomato sauce.
- Mozzarella cheese: Use as much or as little cheese as you like. I prefer using
- low-moisture cheese because it melts really well.
- Pepperoni: Feel free to top your pizza with your favorite pizza toppings.
- Butter: You can use olive oil or avocado oil.
- Garlic: Fresh garlic is optional but you will be so glad you used it in this recipe.
📝Variations
- Spicy - add red pepper flakes to the sauce or sliced banana peppers on top of the pizza before placing it in the air fryer.
- White Pizza( Pizza Bianca) - If you like white pizza, feel free to use alfredo sauce instead of traditional pizza sauce. use a blend of white cheeses like mozzarella, ricotta, and parmesan.
- Meat Lovers pizza- Add cooked and crumbled ground beef, thick slices of ham, cooked bacon or sausage.
🍳Equipment
All air fryers are different, but this recipe was created and tested using an 8 qt gourmia air fryer.
❄️Storage
If you want to make your own homemade frozen french bread pizza, you can assemble these pizzas in advance and freeze them for up to a month. When you are ready to bake them, pop them into the air fryer and bake as directed. Just add 1 or 2 extra minutes to the cooking time.
👩🏾🍳Top tip
This is such an easy meal to make and it's hard to mess it up.
I love making these pizzas vs buying frozen ones because everyone can put their favorite toppings on and they are way cheaper to make. Purchasing the cheese in bulk and buying day-old French can also help keep costs down.
