Mint Iced Tea

A refreshing an lightly sweetned iced tea with a hint of mint.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water divided
  • 6 each tea bags regular size, orange pekoe
  • 1 cup mint syrup plus more as needed
  • 6 each mint leaves optional garnish
  • 6 each lemon slices optional garnish

Instructions

  • Bring 2 cups of the water to boil in a small saucepan.
  • Turn off the heat and add the teabags. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes before removing the tea bags. DO NOT squeeze the tea bags or it will add bitterness to the tea.
  • Pour the steeped tea in to the serving pitcher and add the remaining water and the mint syrup. Stir to combine.
  • Fill the serving glasses with ice and pour the mint iced tea in to the glasses.
  • Garnish the glasses with fresh mint and lemon slices, if desired. Serve immediately.
